Re: Finally.... First Elk (Pics showing up now)

Zion unit has been any bull unit for as long as I can remember. I love hunting there with an any bull tag because alot of the Panguitch bulls cross over into it. That is where I was on the Zion Unit. Cedar mountain. Just east of Cedar City by Navajo Lake/Duck Creek. It's funny you say that other hun...

Re: Finally.... First Elk (Pics showing up now)

You may not be able to mount her on your wall but its an elk under your belt right? I am 37 and just got my first elk. I have had frustrating hunts where I didn't even see a cow and wondered what I was doing wrong. I love the soapstone area have hunted up there. I almost got a 5 by 5 rag horn 3 year...

Re: Any bull unit success, first bull

Thank you and if he does make the 300" that is all the better but to be able to take my first bull to the taxidermist I have no complaints. I really just wanted elk meat in the freezer and would've shot a spike in a heartbeat. Tough, tough unit because it is so thick and there are not that many vant...

Re: Chukars

I hear ya there. I have heard them by the tortoise area but never seen them. The kid that comes and sprays the house for bugs limits out on Utah hill. I don't get it. I know of 8 guzzlers up on Utah Hill and have checked around them and nothing but I hear them. Wish I lived up north still. Thx

Re: Any bull unit success, first bull

Thank you all. Sorry I was on the road in Colorado. Did I mention that this is my first bull and I am still on cloud nine. I can't wait til late spring/early summer to get it back from the taxidermist. I do feel really lucky. I heard there was a 6 by 7 taken just back in further than where I got min...

Re: 2013 Any Bull Elk

Awesome story. I feel bad that I didn't go into as great of detail but was on limited time and I too came home a day and a half early only to cut and package back straps and tenderloins before I went on the road to Colorado. Excellent story and awesome job. Congrats

Re: Any bull unit success, first bull

Thank you. It can be very frustrating hunting for elk on Cedar Mountain as you probably know there are few elk and so many hunters. Thanks

Any bull unit success, first bull

Well don't have alot of time to go into detail but will say that I put in for Panguitch as usual, didn't draw, bought an any bull tag again and it finally paid off. Got up there thursday and set up camp. Went and scouted Fri and saw a spike with 4 cows and around 10 unknowns (they were facing away f...
