Re: Favorite Rifle?
Call me a softy or nostalgic but my favorite to this day is my old model 94 Winchester 30/30. I got it for Christmas at the tender age of 9 and it maintains a place in my heart to this day. That rifle has downed many an Easter whitetail in the last 18 years and has since been a loaner rifle to my fr...

Re: Slug gun for deer.....
I believe Savage makes a bolt action slug gun and from the reviews I've read its a legit 200yd slugger with the new ballistic tip slugs from Hornady and Remington. They are talking 1" to 1 1/2" groups at 100yds. May be worth a look for a dedicated slug man.

Re: Looking for a new rifle
Ive got a Tikka T3 in 300WSM thats a dream to pack and shoots much better than I can so that would be my top choice, and with a burris 3x9 with ballistic plex reticle I can stroke em out to 400yds all day. As for Savages my brother has a model 110 that extremely reasonable ie cheap that shoots 3/4" ...

Re: South Dakota Success
Great pics and deer congradulations! I'm a whitetail freak from back east and would love to try for a South Dakota thumper like the ones you've got there, at some point.

243 for lopes?
I have a question for you guys about 243s for antelope. I am planning a Wyoming lope hunt next year and would like to get your opinions on taking along a 243. I don't think my shots would be over 250-300yds so would this round have enough umpf to get the job done cleanly? I really don't want to take...

Re: Anyone hunt unit 93 in Wyoming?
It looks like they had 54 total tags for non residents 23 went to people with 4 points with 100% draw and 71 people with 3 points applied with only 31 getting tags which is a 44% chance leaving everyone with less than 3 no chance at a tag. So I'd save up my points for a while for that unit but it st...

I got a Garmin Oregon 450 gps. Can't wait to take it out to WY next year on my antelope hunt. I have been playing around with it and it rocks!
