Water, shelter, and food. Remeber elk go low at night and high in the day (most of the time) my luck has always lookining for thick tember and hunting pretty high. If you can find good trail hit it hard and keep a ear out cows and calves talk alot so listen for the mews. Best places for me are high ...

Best advice i could give any one is think like the deer or elk start with southern slopes and pack along some good glasses. Check the saddles and tops of the rolls. Thats what been working best for me might work for you to happy huntin

Sorry guys little late on the reply heads up on the central region as far as snow and winter kill. Deer are lookin good and been seeing lots of bucks, got hit with snow up high but lots of rain down low have not heard much on winter kill yet. Hope the info helps a little bit

Not alot of big mule buck around there but lots of white tails in that area if you dont mind drivin a bit and huntin in a gen area i can point you to some good pockets on the east side my email is garyfitzgerald15@gmail.com
