I agree with Brett, I bet this is a 2 year-old deer. My guess is that he will be 18" wide and pretty spindley.---------------SS

Yeah he already has all of his width now. You can see that they have turned and they will just grow up now. If he is lucky he might be sixteen inches wide.

I'd say that he will be a four for sure. Hopefully he'll live for a few more years so he can do some breeding. I think that this is a very young deer and to have a 4x4 is good considering he probably had his first set of antlers last year. If he's in a general unit, he's toast. I'd let my daughter shoot that one hands down. May not be the best for management, but by the time I can find her a big one on the general units, she might give up the 308 and get into Twilight, or something terrible like that.---------SS

my guess is that buck has pretty good genetics and is only a yearling. "Not all deer start off with spike or two point horns!" Or he is a two year old with crap genitics. most deer I see that are around two years of age look like the bookcliff deer. 3x4 18-22 inches wide willow bucks.

but to me his body size is very small. he will also only get about 14" wide this year when he finishes out. He is barley wider then his ears now and they are pined back so to speak. average deer can have 7-9 inch ears then add 4 inches in between as a guide. but you have to decide if the buck has a big head or a little head. and that one has a tiny head. 4+7+7=18 but he is inside those measurements.
