Very Big Mule Deer from Texas
All of these big Mule Deer came from one county in Texas. The state just opened a 9 day season for the first time ever. The county borders NM and has lots of crop land. My In-laws live out there and I have seen some monsters. The free for all for anybody with an over the counter license will not be good for the future but, was good this year.I'm a Texas boy so this is pretty good to see. Hope ya'll enjoy.

Re: Big Mule Deer
Very nice. It reminds me of the year that they reopened the book cliffs here in Utah. There were some nice bucks taken that year. It seems that any first year opening of a hunting ground is going to give hunters a chance at some true giants. Thanks for posting.

Those are some impressive bucks coming out of Texas. Hopefully a couple of those pigs passed on their genes. What was the pressure like this year? Does it seem like this will become a zoo down there, or will it remain fairly tame and for local people?

Most of the land owners didn't lease to the highest bidder but, There were a few. Most of the hunters where land owners or family. Next year might be a different story with deer that big. Somebody will throw money at these farmers to shoot a 200 inch deer.
