I haven't yet. I think that anyone that had to reaply this year and did re aply will draw because we had a point going into the draw, there could be a few that did not draw that it was there first time.

Yup as long as your requirements were fullfiled in your last term, you earned a loyalty point.
there were about 3000 open spots....... which normally would have been taken, but:
#1 switching to a draw probably turned a few people off
#2 the increase in hours probably turned a few people off
#3 the more deadlines there are, the more lazy people miss opportunity
I'd be willing to bet that everyone who applied got in and there will be a few open slots.

I am currenty in year #11...... I need all three seasons just to get a good 10 days of hunting in! And you can bet your arse I will have a loyalty point in 2011!!!!WELCOME NEW AND RE-UP DH'S!

I would agree chet.
I have talked to a few people that decided to not try and reup this year because of the increase in hours, there were quite a few that had a hard enought time getting there hours completed when it was set at 24.

Drew also for Southern.. I have some friends that are from up north and they applied and drew also. It suprised me to hear they applied for southern tags. Im wondering if alot of others have now because of the draw. I would like to see the statisics for dedicated hunters on what percentage are in each area. I think with it being a draw alot of people will put in for the southern region. I may be wrong tho.. Im guessing if it is way out of whack Im sure we wil soon see a cap on each individual unit.. Just thinking down the road, but Im sure it will happen sooner or later..

I would imagine that your correct on that one. With the state archery hunt gone for the first few weeks of the hunt I would be willing to bet that most put in for the southern unit.
I however put infor the central unit.

Re: 3 more years in the Ded. Hunter program for me.
I'm starting my second year of my second three year program. I didn't have to draw this year. Luckily I have 16 hours to complete before this years tag. Fourty hours is going to be taxing. Especially for those who have young kids. Still worth it though. I live in central Utah but hunt the southern region. My family has hunted the same canyon for 21 years. I hope to be able to continue. A regional cap on hunters would hurt my ability to get back to one of my favorite spots on this planet. Hope it doesn't happen.
