Is it just the picture angle, or are those points only about a 1/2" apart? What a unique buck!

Nope, The picture angle makes it look farther apart actually. Its between 1/4 and a 1/2. Im going to measure it today. Very tight...lol

Will give this picture thing a try. Posting a better picture of the deer than the first time.

2nd Season CO

Buck on Right scores about 161 gross - very even - 26" outside
Buck on left is unusual, very weak fronts, but 31 1/2" outside! Buddy says it scored 170 with those weak fronts. Should have been in the 190's with more proper fronts. Right now those small main beam fronts are also limiting the max spread credit. A shame, but still a neat buck.

This is my first deer, I moved to southwest New Mexico about 4 years ago, and after the "Dream Draw" this year (Archery Antelope, Archery Elk, and Rifle Deer) and mssing on a 70 yards shot on the antelope, and getting skunked on my elk hunt, I connected on this deer at 300 yards. It doesn't have the mass or the width that I commonly see on Mule Deer in the Bootheel, but it makes up for in height. It was a hunt I will always remember.
