Scoring?

Post by hunt4duck » Fri Oct 02, 2009 7:31 pm

Buddy of mine took these pictures by his house in Golden. Definate shooter for me, but what would you score him? Sorry, i don't know how to reduce KB without just cropping so they are all zoomed in.

Welcome. Use the "paint" program on your computer to reduce your images. That's a nice buck. I'd say 170's. It doesn't matter. He's got character.

nice looking buck i would say low to mid 170's great front forks but back forks are a little weak.

Think these guesses are pretty close also, agreed on the "who cares" score...that is a cool buck with good mass. :thumb

I think it's too wide to be 170. I'm guessing closer to 185. Hard to tell with the injured ear though. Sweet buck for sure a wall hanger.

width doesn't do much for score.

I would also guess that buck to have a gross score around low to mid 170's

This buck has good mass
weak g2's
small g3's
miss matched g4's
and ok main beams

to make it into the mid 180 class it needs a few more inches on each tine.

I love the cheaters on this buck and would pull the trigger if given the chance
nice photo.

I agree with the other, low to mid 170's. He has great character though and is a shooter in my book.

I was thinking mid 170's as well. Looks a little young in the face. No doubt a shooter for me.

I wouldn't shoot it. That's got to be the ugliest looking ear I've ever seen. Oh, I forgot about sawtooths buck from last year. Maybe the second ugliest. lol
There's always next year
