Ouch - Poor thing.
Hiker sent these to me a while back, this is either a really poor shot or someone giving us a bad name.
Re: Ouch - Poor thing.
dang! Although there is a chance she would survive (I've seen some pics of deer surviving with worse wounds) I think she need to be put out of her misery.
Yea, either someone just shootin' for the sake of killin' something, a bowhunter going for a headshot (I am not a bowhunter but I'm pretty sure that that's something that isn't done...at least by an ethical bowhunter), or the arrow very well could have hit a limb while inflight and was deflected...or something along those lines.
Too bad either way.

that stinks!
just a thought: [ although i hate when people question every picture to get posted...]
but to me that broadhead looks like a Wasp Jackhammer- expandable. i have seen these used and they make a huge exit hole. i've also never seen one of them not expand. that exit hole looks no bigger than the shaft of the arrow, is there any way it is a fake picture? there should be a huge wound we should be able to see.
i hope it is cuz that would suck runnin around with that sticking out in your way.

Don't believe it's fake at all, very real. Actually have several other angles/pics that I didn't post.

It seems real odd that there is no sign of infection. Certainly there would be sign of drainage even say with no infection. a little blood running? That arrow in a position like that would constantly be hitting the ground or vegetation while the deer feeds. And imagine it walking through brush. And notice how flared out the arrow is and how there appears to be only the shaft hole in the skin?

Looks like a Grim Reaper expandable... sad for sure. I wouldnt jump to any conclusions that the hunter was shooting for the head. It could be a bad shot or she string jumped the shot or even a hard quartering away shot and she spun. Sad definately... id fill an either sex tag just to put her out of her misery.
