Elk 2nd rifle unit 24 CO

My hunting crew and myself are hunting in unit 24 in CO. this fall. We will be packing on horse back. Just looking for any info any fellow hunters can offer. This will be our first time in this area.

im hunting that 1st season. its some tough country. no roads hardly so lots of hikeing. my old job was with an outfit there called budges and man thats some hard hunting. lots of big bulls and a ton of cows. but watch out for the moose theres a few up there

I haven't hunted 24, but have hunted the Pagota peak area of unit 12. This is just north of 24. Lots of elk, but a fair number of hunters. After the first season the elk seem to really pocket up in the remote dark timber or head for private ground.

not really up there in 24 thats out of the road area so not as much hunters. its a nice area tough to hunt tho
