Arizona Elk Hunters

Post by Mike111 » Sun Aug 15, 2004 6:18 pm

Got lucky and drew Unit 9 Archery Bull Elk in Arizona. Anyone familiar with the area I would appreciate any advice on the unit or hunting stories. I will be shooting a Mathews MQ1, three blade 100 grain expandable spitfire broadheads at 286 fps. That better do it what do you guys think. I also have 85 grain thunderheads that are great broadheads but I wanted something to fly just like a field point. Any trouble with expandables on elk? Also how good do you think the rut will be this year in Arizona, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Wyoming and Nevada? I'm pumped up and have been scouting lately and the unit looks great and so do the bulls! Thanks email coues14@aol.com

Mike111,
How did you do on your Unit 9 hunt? Just curious.

Just wanted to wish everyone good luck in this years draw, we should know how we did end of next month. [-o<

Just for the record,
I put in for 5B North first choice, 6A second, and 7W for third for Elk.

And 32 for rifle whitetail first, and Muleys in the same for second.
