Re: compound or traditonel
Everybody's diferent, but I couldn't picture myself hunting with anything other than a compound.
You can stand me up at the gates of Elko and I won't back down!
Re: compound or traditonel
I use both.....depending on what I'm hunting and where.......nothing beats the feel of a custom built recurve bow in your hand.

I prefer a nice compound myself.

Depends on how much time you want to dedicate. Unless your extremely gifted it takes a huge amount of dedication to hunt with traditonal equipment.
I can barely hit the broadside of a barn with my recurve. So i use a compound to hunt with.

All I've shot and hunted with for the last 25 years are stickbows. My current hunting bow is a Blacktail Elite VL. 60# @ 29" My arrows are doug fir or cedar, depending on which set I use. Guess it really depends on how simple or complex you want your time in the woods to be.
