Unless you are using the gun for turkey or ducks, I wouldn't bother. And it you have a wood stock, not too sure how well it would work. Just my .02
It ain't the size of the gun but the placement of the bullet.

You probably don't need to do it. But I figure you wanna make it look cool right? Like Abert said, unless it's synthetic you shouldn't try it. Wood looks good the way it is, even if it is all tore up.

Wharpoley put this pic up a while back of his rifles. The first thing to do is clean the stock real well, then use some decent drab green spray paint in a satin finish (not gloss or high gloss). Then you need to get some leaf (or whatever you like) stencils and spray over them, or cut them out and spray through them. Wharapoley did a great job it looks like, so he will know more than me. But most likely it will look a little cheesy when your done, but maybe that is cool to you. What rifle are you thinking of doing that to?

Search the web for camo gun sock.

It will show you a bunch options that are cheap and if you you don't like it you wont have to spend a bunch of time takeing it off.

I do my own camo jobs... Ill try to get a pic up this week. You can find a dull matte spray too so that once your done you can coat it with poly without any sheen its the best and can be found in most hobby shops. Mine turned out better than I expected. I took them apart and taped all the parts I didnt want paint on.

I painted my .223 (2nd one down) with some krylon camo paint. it is flat, and dries fairly hard. the other green one in the pic is my weatherby which is colored in the mold. I am not brave enough to paint anything worth alot of money.
