elk antlers started growing

Was checking out our resident elk herd last Saterday evening and saw some new antler growth on a bull. Looked to be about six inches worth. Not sure if its the same critter, but all the bulls I scoped out a week earlier still had last years head ornaments. If this is the largest bull in the herd that means six inches of growth in a week.

Rumor has it (or fact), that they can grow an inch in a day.
