Idaho Whitetail success

Post by AGCHAWK » Fri Nov 24, 2006 3:14 pm

All,

As most of ya know, in addition to my annual Mulie hunt, I also hunt Whitetail every year in Northern Idaho. This year turned into another successful year with all four tags being filled (Me and my son and my brother and his son).
My oldest son and I had to shorten our hunt this year due to "work-related" issues I had so we ended up bringing home a couple good-sized does to fill the freezer. Buck or doe, this was my son's first year out so he was pretty stoked either way.
However, my brother and his son Jessie had the opportunity to hold out for something "bigger" and connected on a couple nice bucks. This was Jessie's FIRST DEER also and he'll have a tough time topping his in the future! Pics are below. Hope you enjoy!!!!

In addition, Jessie made his shot in low light at 200+ yards with an open sited lever-action 30.30 with the deer on the move! I was REALLY impressed!
LOL...Heck, I made my shot on the doe I got at 30 yards with a scoped-out 30.06 and she was just standing there without a care in the world!

WHO'S THE REAL HUNTER?!?!...LOL

GREAT JOB JESS!

Thanks guys. We really have fun out there and with the success rate we have huntin' the whitetails it sure helps to temper the "disappointment" when the Mulies elude us.
Here is a pic of the racks from the bucks we've taken over the last three years out there. All four were taken on public land with fairly heavy huntin' pressure most times. Wish I had the same success with the Mulies!!!!!!!! Oh well, there is always next year :)
