Bart, You know my feeling on this. I have never thought hunting elk during the rut with a rifle was much of a challenge. I think that we could eliminate the spike hunting in several units in the state and be just fine. I support this initiative whole hearted. I believe anyone with kids that hunt sho...

2 years ago I called in a 350 class bull that had all kinds of velvet hanging of it. He was rubbing when I interupted him. It was the 10th of September. Pretty late for velvet. Just like Bart said, every bull is a little different.

I'll second the .270 caliber. My 15 year old shoots one with a HS Precision stock and a Limbsaver recoil pad along with a barrel stabilizer. I have shot the .270 right after the .243 and really could not tell the difference. :thumb Most gun experts will tell you to go with a synthetic stalk and a mu...

What do you mean, the hunter IS in the picture. I did everything but pull the trigger on that one. You know what I mean? If you want to see something that proves your point go over to "the other" forum and check out some of the pictures they say are 380+. Pretty interesting on what people think are ...

Just starting out with my camera so these are some great questions. I am heading to the camera store to get a UV filter and a Polarizing Filter too. Can you recommend a certain kind?

DeadI, I am sure that you and your dad tromped around in there. If I panned to the right you would know exactly where I was. The mountain in the back is the East side of Loafer.

Concentrate on the East side of this unit. The drainages that run into the Green River usually hold a lot of speed goats. You won't have any problem getting your animals. I do think that the West side of the unit gets a little bit more pressure because of access. Congrats on the tags. You can't beat...
