Vortex Fury vs. Viper
I am going to buy a new pair of binos here in the next couple of months. In the past I've bought cheap pairs just because they were cheap and I didn't think it mattered all that much. After looking through some of my buddys' binos that idea is now out the window. I hate my current pair and am consid...

Re: When??
90% of them have dropped from what I've seen. Me and my buddies saw 150 or so deer saturday, many definite bucks, but nothing packing. Where in central ut. do ya live?

Re: Utah Extended Archery Elk Hunt (Sanpete County)
It's a matter of knowing where the public is and catching the elk on it. They move around a lot and it takes some experience with the hunt to figure them out. The hunt was made to keep the elk off the highway and it's very effective.

Trade Wac'ems for Rage, Epek, or Tekan
I have five new-in-package Wac'em Triton XLs. Sick of tuning for broadheads and then having to practice with them. I'll trade all five for a new 3-pack of any of the following:
Rage 3-Blade 100 Gr.
Rage 40 K.E. 100 Gr.
Epek EX3 100 Gr.
G5 Tekan 100 Gr.
Rage 3-Blade 100 Gr.
Rage 40 K.E. 100 Gr.
Epek EX3 100 Gr.
G5 Tekan 100 Gr.

My 2009 Utah Antelope (Plateau)
I drew this tag on the Plateau unit in Utah this year. The DWR has beat this unit to death, and it's pretty rough now. We were looking for waterholes with good bucks and lots of goats on our scouting trips, and we found a good spot and set up a blind. First day, saw a badger and lots of sage chicken...

Re: What kinda broad heads do you use?
Rage 3 blade. Fly just like my field tips even at 60 yards. Killed an antelope at 40 yards this week. Went through part of his shoulder, center punched a rib, went through his lungs and left a big nasty hole through him. On the exit side (farther back, he was quartered to me) one blade busted throug...

40 yards or less for sure. Just above where the neck meets the chest and let the Rage take care of the rest.

Re: Buck Fever?
Got it bad on an antelope and missed this weekend. After that I calmed down and smacked my buck at 40. Definately get it lots worse with a bow, I don't get it too bad 'til after the shot with a rifle.

Info on hunting antelope from a blind (archery)
I have an archery tag for the Parker and need some tips. I've located some good waterholes and I'm going to build my blind out of t-posts and camo netting. I'm comfortable out to 60 yards on shots where the animal is calm, etc. Do I want to cut doors in the netting, or shoot over the top or around t...
