Binoc Harness
What is your favorite binoc harness? I have used the standard neck strap and a X type of harness with split rings that attached to the binoc. Anyone use anything different or know of a better system?

Gas prices and hunting
Is the high cost of fuel affecting your hunting this year? What are you doing differently? I bought a motorcycle for my commuting to and from work. It sure is nicer spending $16 a week vice $100 on feeding my Hemi. I will not take my truck scouting. I will be on the bike. Since my area is a few hour...

Re: Talk about a shock to the system!
I would help her get in the woods as soon as possible. So what if you have to get a cow/doe tag. If she has to wait it out to draw something decent, the interest will be gone. Try varmint or predator hunting. It will show her what hunting is about and helps out with the predator reduction. I love hu...

Re: The hunting scope
I am one of "those" that have more scopes above 10x than below, handguns included. The reason is for extra magnification. Being younger, I had the option of buying better optics for increased resolution or buyng lower end optics with mediocre glass but more magnification. I went the latter as I have...

Re: Smokeless powders in ML season?
Why not resurrect an old post? Anyhow, yes, I have a Savage 10 ML II muzzleloader. It's been in my safe since early 2004. It is all its cracked up to be. It is the strongest ML on the market. I have 4 TCs, Hawkens in flint and perc, Black DIamond, and Encore, a pair of Knight Disc Elites, a Rem 700 ...

Re: 54 cal vs 50 cal
With modern ammo and powders, the .50 caliber will offer better ballistics. Shooting a .45 caliber saboted bullet that weighs the same as a .54 caliber bullet will have a higher ballistic coefficient offering more downrange energy and a higher sectional density which gives deeper penetration. The .5...

Re: 1st muzzleloader hunt
Try a few and see what shoots best in your gun. What area did you draw? I will be in 23 with ML this year.

Re: Omega Z-5 with Blackhorn209 & Hornady FPB?
From what I have heard, all you need to do is cut off the soft rubber tip like Hiker mentioned. Has anyone shot these? I have seen reports that the jackets are cracked. Guys with the Savage smokeless MLs have tried them and not gotten good results but at stinky powder velocities it may be ok.
