just back form montana, great trip and success

We returned Saturday from a mule deer hunt in Montana. We had an absolute blast. We all tagged out with 4 x 4's (which are 10 points here in the south). I will post the photos and stories once we all have time to get our stories together. I can say it was the very best hunt I have ever been on. We s...

Thanks for the info. I will start putting together a PSK today. 90% of what you talked about I carry, but in by backpack not on me. I guess that will change now based on your story.

Marksman, Thanks for the information. We fish the gulfcoast waters and every year an "experienced" water person drowns from not wearing a PFD. We now all wear the inflatables around the waist on our boat (it is mandatory for all passengers). Cold is generally not an issue here, but its good to hear ...

Waynedevore,

Great pic of the birds with the dogs. Is that picture taken near Glasgow? I'm asking because I am headed there the first week of NOvember for a mule deer hunt and I'm trying to picture the terrain in my mind. Thanks for the photos.

do they make a tripod for scoping and shooting?

Is there such a thing as a tripod for glassing that can be used as a shooting rest as well. I am making a mule deer hunt in Montana in November and would like to save weight and pace by getting one tripod that will do two things. Any suggestions?

Thanks wanyedevore for the info. I will start the map process today. I'm still confused about block management section. The land we are going to hunt is North of Glasgow I believe. (based on second hand information from my buddy that has talked to his relatives that live in Glasgow) Can I get the bl...

I'm not sure what block managment is. the hunting district is 670 i believe. Is that the same thing? I have seen lots of public and landowner "open" land in the area we are going (north of Glasgow and west of the Indian reservation), but I am not sure about block management. I'm open to new informat...

first time mule deer hunting, lots of questions

I am hunting with a friends family near Glasgow, Mt Nov 2-10 for mule deer. This will be my first attempt at anything other than white tails and I am very excited. I have been practicing out to 350 yards, walking 3 miles a day and pouring over photos of mulies. Does anyone know anything about this g...
