Thanks for pitching in on this topic, razorbackbowhunter. One of the deer I referred to was killed just outside of Hampton, not too far from you. The other, I killed in 1991 between Star City and Pinebergen. I am looking forward to the report that ACGHAWK has promised. I suspect that the gene pool o...

I appreciate your persistence and look forward to seeing the fruits of your research skills on my behalf.

Man 'O man, you are out there doing some research and I appreciate it too.

The whole issue of genetics and cold climate makes plenty of sense in regard to the ear-splitting phenomenon. Now if we can just somehow explain what makes those crazy cowboys tick !!

Well, I just have to throw in on this one. All the reasons given are perhaps valid. I do not know. I do know, however, that on at least one ranch in central Wyoming (I shall withhold the name to protect my guilty pals and to protect one of my primo hunting holes), the cowboys are responsible. These ...

Thanks, AGCHAWK. The Arkansas Game and Fish Comm. was not in existence until about 1915 and only as a cameo enforcement agency...enforcement for the few, scant wildlife laws we had back then. By that time, deer were so scarce (period) that they were a pure novelty anywhere in the state. I interviewe...

Call the main BLM office Cheyenne at 307-775-6256 and they can give you details on how to acquire maps showing those lands.

Congrats on drawing a good tag and best of luck.

Remington all the way, especially those old 700's made in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. They seem to be a little better'n the stuff they put out now, especially the fit, finish, and out of the box accuracy. That is not to say, however, that the higher-end stuff is not primo. I guess maybe the "Walmart" ...

I personally think the Brunton (Wyoming-made) Eterna line is the best buy for the money (as good as Leica), but I must give credit to the Leupold Wind River line of optics....heck, anything Leupold makes is first class and a bargain. I have a Wind River spotter and it compares nicely to other brands...

The 7mmRUM is the stuff. It betters my beloved STW just slightly, but is not belted so it headspaces more traditionally...usually resulting in better accuracy. Or so the ballistics gurus say. When they first came out a couple years ago, I got one of those new Remington 673 Guide Rifles in 300 Reming...
