I have a lightweight camel back. It has worked out nice I had to make some modifications on it to make it work the way I wanted it to. It also depends on your budget. I would check out the Badlands packs. They are pretty sweet. Best of luck to you on finding the pack you are looking for.

Welcome, I have heard a few things about them mostly from watching the outdoor channel. No personal experiences. Just wanted to welcome you aboard!

You should be fine at 7,000. There are mule deer at all elevations.
