I've seen times when the wild fires burn all organic material and stuff like bone and antlers. Depends on how dry things are, humidity, wind and how hot the fires are.
Hot fires that burn up the top cover, takes years to heal. Exposed soil dries out in the sun. invasive weeds take over.

Jbird, Now you got me chomping at the bit to get out shed hunting.

We are Soooo snow bound here in MN, NOT possible.
Maybe a shed trip to MT might give me my fix.

I wouldn't make plans to get on a ranch for free.
I'm not sure that would even be possible in Region "A"?
Best thing would be to take a trip, learn the lay of the land, visit with locals.

There is some Black Hills National Forest in region "A"
If you can get access to a private ranch, hunting can be outstanding.

It depends so much on hunting pressure and habitat your area and surrounding.
You maybe hit a jackpot, best of luck.

I got into some rough country in Central MT.
Deer numbers are very low through this area.
Time was running out after a hard hunt.

I love trash.

The mass on "B" trumps the trash in this case.

Having a place to stay included in the price is a good deal.
I wonder about the 1200 acres, do you have it to yourselves?
When You get your BLM maps check the area around the ranch, is it public?
1200 acres to me seems very small for an antelope hunt or deer hunt for that matter?
