Re: Colorado 41,42,421 help

I actually saw of pic of the buck we killed on here last month. It was the big freaky 8-spike. Actaully a 8X3. He was 34" wide and ended up scoring 187 7/8. It was an incredible hunt!

Re: Colorado 41,42,421 help

I got this tag 2 weeks before the hunt opened. I had just burned all but one of my vac days, hunting with a buddy on the Pauns for an entire week. So my goal on this hunt was to just try and go spend a few fun days with my dad, wife and youngest son. Second goal was to learn the area and decided if ...

Re: who wants to fix the deer herds?

Ox, I think that this is exactly how the new system will be successful. If you want a say in how "your " unit is ran, then you should get involved and see what will make "your" unit a better place to hunt. What will grow more deer what is hurting and what will help. It will take focused efforts and ...

Re: 2011 Rifle bucks

The spike by monster actually has 3 scorable on the left and 8 scorable on the right. He is even bigger than the pics show. He still scored 184 which is really unbelievable considering he is really just a spike with double eyeguards!!!

All GREAT bucks!!!!

Re: RAC meeting report

dahlmer, The DWR does not currently actually manage each unit. I asked Anis personally at the Northern RAC meeting. They manage them up until the hunting season starts. Then they are thrown into the regions and the DWR loses control of what actually happens on each unit. The units are are all averag...

Re: RAC meeting report

Southeast Region voted 7-3 tonight in favor of Option 2. That makes it 2-2! Man seems that the Regions that actually have some deer and habitat left seem to be getting the big picture. I hope the WB will do the right thing. We need to address each herd and focus on what is hurting that herd. This wi...

Re: RAC meeting report

SW, Who gives the SFW and other special intrest groups the conservation tags? Steal them really? I am almost positive that it is the DWR that gives them the tags? I promise I do not agree with how many they give! I think a few is a good idea and the money they generate is good, but it has gotten out...

Re: RAC meeting report

All this talk about special intrest groups and nobody mentions two to the most powerful in the state. That would be the Utah Bowhunters Assoc and The Utah Bowmens Assoc. Now those groups have some power. They have sided with the DWR for years and got some pretty good results I must say. Extended Sea...

Re: My First Elk -2010

Great story and pics. DeLoss can be a good old boy, just don't get him going on the deer herd. I know he loves helping others on their hunts and was pumped to see your success. :thumb
