Filamore Oak Creek INFO

Myself and my brother just got back from Colorado Muzzle deer hunting. Both of us killed smaller mid 160" bucks. Not really what we where after but, thats all we could find this year. I've been drawn for the Filamore Oak Creek unit in central Utah. Being from Texas and out of extra time from work I ...

Re: Openine Morning 2010 Nevada Muley

Nice buck, great buck with a bow. Congrats. I would guess mid to upper 180's gross. Makes our wait for the muzzle season seem that much shorter, when we get to see nice bucks like this one.

Re: GREEN!!!!

Sniper1 have you ever actually hunted the Filamore oak creek unit? Anything you can tell me about the country. Is it going to be loaded up with people like the Henry Mtns unit? Any info would help. I'm 1400 miles away and am going to be unable to scout for this hunt due to a shoulder injury.

Re: DIY Caribou in AK..

Something you might check into!!!! I've driven to and hunted in Alaska in 1997 and 1999. Had a blast. Both where trips of a lifetime. Something you and your boy will remember forever. I have a two and half year old son and would love to consider something like this in 16 years. Anyhow, when I was in...

Re: Alaska Moose Drop Camp/Float Trip 2010

I flew with Bettles Air in 1999. I know that was a long time ago, but my buddy called them a couple of months ago and they are still in business. They are up in the Brooks range, if you are looking to go that far north. I did a solo drop camp for moose. I killed a black bear,a wolf and a really nice...

Re: Traditional Muzzle-Loaded Bullet Rifles

I hope this post isn't dead. I have a homemade sidelock that (.45cal) that I have been getting some really nice groups with. It has a 1 and 18 twist with a 34inch barrel. It's kinda long when packing on a horse but, it burns up all of the powder. I'm shooting some custom bullets out of utah. (I'll t...

Re: Colorado Unit 74 - Early Rifle Draw - HELP!

I don't know any outfitters, because we always took our own horses. We've muzzleloader hunted unit 75 and 751 for around ten years. Oh if I was only carrying a rifle several of those years. We found some bruiser mulies, just couldn't quite put a ball into them though. You probably already know that ...
