If its brown on the other side it was most likely dropped the year before. If a horn is still hard and smooth like a fresh brown then it was most likey dropped the year before, but if it is chalky and has a lot of cracks then it has been there for a while.

In Nevada the units that deer usually migrate into during the winter months (along the California/Nevada border) its pretty common to see collared deer. If you guys watched that Wardens show on National Geographic they delt with a guy who video taped his friends "breeding" with animals. And back on topic I've never really heard of any body doing Mule Deer breeding like they do with White Tails.

All these stories are makin me nervous to go buy my first trail cam! I found a trail cam last year that had come off the tree somehow so I grabbed some small rope out of my bag and secured it back to the tree! We had one of our Bushnells stolen last year. We had a metal case around it with a lock on the case and a metal cable wrapped around the tree and the camera. The POS shot the cable off with a hand gun and then used plyers to pry open the box and stole the camera.
