Re: TSX vs Accubond

I am certainly no ballistics expert but a friend helped me work up a load of the TTSX for my 300 winchester in 168 grain before last season (2012). I had an elk and deer tag for colorado. Put a rush shot on a mulie the first day of season and hit it a little far back but it worked him over pretty go...

Unit 62 info

Deer1.jpg I hunted unit 62 2n rifle in 2012. Was sent there by a friend and I had a really enjoyable hunt. Ended up connecing with a 3x4 muley (first muley ever) the first morning of the hunt and had a few opportunities to fill my bull tag, but eventually came home without a bull. I did pass on a 3...

Re: ATTENTION: NEW OR STRUGGLING HUNTERS

I have some experience hunting colorado near the rout divide in unit 27. I was muzzle hunting deer at the time but according to the elk activity that I saw while I was there I think it would be an awesome area for elk muzzle or elk rifle. Anyone in need of any info on that area feel free to pm me. H...

Re: OTC elk hunt in Colorado

I would focus on something in the rout national forest. It is well documented that the rout national forest has the largest elk herd in colorado. I have never hunted it but I did hunt a unit next to the route NF and I will tell you there are plent of elk on the route. Many hunters coming off there w...

Re: Ted Nugent

I am sort of indifferent about the guy. He is a little bit radical in his speach for my taste sometimes but I do believe that his political views are fundamentally conservative and in line with what most hunters believe but he just has an unusual way of advocating those views that isn't very palatab...

Re: Unit 62 deer/elk

Thanks treedagain. Once again some very helpful information. I am prepared to go deep and I'm also expecting to do so. I know the guy who provided me with the hunt information is one who will do whatever it takes to make the kill. He says that you must glass alot. It will certainly be a new experien...

So here it goes .................. My name is Jacob, a native of WV. I'm 29 years old and I work for the NRCS and the WV Division of Forestry. I have a wife and one son. I grew up with a fishing pole in my hand and I would have to say that trout fishing is my passion but a close second is hunting. I...
