Re: Wasatch front Bucks/Bulls pics

I killed this guy east of Draper in Corner Canyon I think. I wasted a bunch of the first part of the season in the Uintans before it cooled off (and gas was over $4 a gallon). I want to get familiar with the Wasatch mountains too so that's all I've hunted since. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y34/...

Re: what broadheads?

I killed my first deer last Friday with Wasp Boss Bullets. I can see why they call them that after the first arrow blew through both right legs, leaving the hind leg almost amputated just above the scent gland. I like the tricore tips, and found some 4 blade 100 grain Muzzys at walmart for $8 a thre...

What's cooler?

I'm European mounting my deer skull, and I was wondering if I should leave the lower jaw on or take it off?

Re: Experience of my life

Ah, nice kill man. I gotta tell ya, I've made plenty of long, short, bad, & good shots with my trusty 308 Norma Mag in all the years that I've hunted. When I picked up that bow & made my 1st bow kill I was done. Now I can't put it down. That's where I am. Usually I have shot some prairie dogs befor...

Re: Experience of my life

Congrats on a great first kill!! =D> But on a different note (not to rain on your first kill) a straight on shot is one that has a very high percentage of wounding and never finding the animal a broadside or quartering away is your best shots. Give the animal your hunting the respect of a clean kil...

Re: Experience of my life

Thanks, guys. I didn't expect my first kill to be such an adventure. I've laid awake for two nights running the events through my mind over and over. I wasn't sure how I'd do without adult supervision. I figured it would be cool to have somebody there that knew what I was doing. But I had to get thr...

Experience of my life

I had never killed a big game animal until last Friday. Failure as a rifle hunter drove me to archery due to the longer season, thinking I could get more time to tag out. Well, archery is adicting, more than anything else it turns out. Me and SWBuckmaster and another friend (Who we'll call Jerry, be...
