Re: MULEY CONFUSION
Hate to add competition to the AZ draw, but the deadline for the AZ fall deer application is June 11th. There are plenty of places in AZ with 160" class mulies. DIY is the way to go, but you need to do some scouting to find them.

Re: Kids and hunting?
OK, so no antelope or elk tags for my 10 year old daughter, what a bummer. Just applied for some mulie hunts in AZ for her. Wish her luck! Also bought my wife a license and put her in for a mulie tag too. That will be a first for her, and if she can't do it, she can donate her tag to my 10 year old ...

Re: Muzzle Brake?
I have a couple KDFs on some guns of mine. My .300RUM kicks less than my son-in-law's lightweight .308Win! But holy CRAP is it loud. And if you are not directly behind the gun, it has some serious concussion. My .270Win is easily shootable by my 10 year old daughter, but much louder than a stock rig.

Re: Is this story about you?
Clean bore issues, adrenaline, lack of practice/practice/practice, confirming what your "ballistics program" told you, failure to ensure zero at start of hunt, getting off your butt and getting closer to the game where you are ensured of a clean ethical shot, etc.

Re: Cops poach Elk
What I find hilarious is the lawyer for the "Wildlife Foundation" who spoke out against the killing of an animal is wearing a sheep skin jacket! What a hypocrite!

Kids and hunting?
Who takes their kids hunting with them? Here is my 10yo daughter this past Saturday on a varmint stand with me. Best times in the field are spent with family and friends. Teach the next generation to hunt and appreciate the outdoors. The memories will last a lifetime. http://i642.photobucket.com/alb...

Re: 25-06
I am also a big fan of the .25-06 for large deer size and smaller game, but have an Ackley Improved version. I took my muley at 488 yds this year, quatering on, and had a complete pass through from front right shoulder to left hip with the 100gr Barnes TSX at 3580fps muzzle velocity. I would easily ...
