Re: A Few from this Year

I love that first pic. Looks really sandy where you are hunting.

Re: It's picking up...

Here are a few more from my 12 mile hike today. I ended up with 3 whites and 4 browns, including a side-by-side 3 point set. On the drive home I saw 3 bucks still carrying both sides. One was a beautiful 5 point but it is doubtful I will ever find that one as he is on private property.

It's picking up...

Other than lucking into a couple older sheds while rabbit hunting this winter, I really started looking last weekend. It started pretty slow with just a couple whites last week and a few more whites on Friday night, but Saturday turned into a really fun day with my new shed hunting friend and my son...

Re: boys first shed hunt, lucky sucker!

Nice set! He will always remember that. I'd get that set mounted. I have about 20 miles logged since last weekend and I am still looking for my first brown shed. Maybe tomorrow.

Finally some more...

I have not been able to get out much in the last couple months between moving to a new house and family health issues, but I have managed a couple quick trips and was not disappointed. I found a real cool 7 point elk shed and a few other good ones. Hoping to get some more time in the field before ar...

Re: Any bull unit success, first bull

Congratulations on a great bull! This is my first year with an archery tag and my plans have been thwarted by family health issues but I am hoping to have a few chances to get out. I would be thrilled to shoot a bull like yours but if I get the chance I will shoot the first legal elk I see whether i...

Two side-by-side sets

I took a couple days off last week and hit the hills. I found nothing in 10 miles of hiking one of my best places but made up for it the rest of the weekend finding a nice fresh muley set laying next to each other and then a 5 point elk set from last year soaking in the snow melt. I am way behind on...

Re: Had A Good Day

That looks like a great spot to hike around in. I always wondered what happens to sheds in a fire and whether they could survive. It seems like those burn areas would be great a year or two after when all the new growth is coming up. Nice elk sheds!
