Alaska Black Bear

Here is a bear I wanted to share with ya'll. I got it on Prince of Wales Island in May of this year. He was very close to 400 pounds and had a skull close to 20" The skull is at Skulls Unlimited in Oklahoma City and should be back in a couple months. I will then have it scored. I am having a lifesiz...

Colorado Leftover Tag List

The Colorado Leftover Tag List is on line now. I think the tags go on sale around the 10 or 12 of August.
There are quite a few Buck tags leftover but the hunt areas are questionable. Also quite a few cow elk, doe deer and doe antelope. Some of these are private land only.

Re: Taxidermy Options

Thanks GW! I'm going back to Roy, NM in a couple weeks. I think the antelope season is the 23,24,25th of August. I have a rifle tag and a few antelope bullets. Yee Haw :thumb

Re: Taxidermy Options

Antelope are cool either way. The smelly bases they are talking about may be in regards to the skull plate. You have to remove the horn sheath from the antelope and clean all of the flesh out from underneath or it will smell to high heavens. There is quite a bit of flesh under there. Here is a wall ...

Re: i drew the moose tag!

Thanks for the compliment on my Shiras Moose, I applied for only 5 years and drew the tag. As you can imagine, I was shocked. I ended up getting together with a fly fishing guide who saw moose all of the time while taking his clients fishing. The guy called me all summer long and told me what kind o...

Re: i drew the moose tag!

Here is a moose I took on the Ogden Hunt in 2006. A fun hunt that I will never forget. Just missed book by 2 inches after deductions.

Re: what rifle do you hunt with?

Well, I will try not to get too windy here. My gun started out as a Winchester Model 70 7mm magnum sporter LT classic. I felt that the gun would better suit me as a .300 Win Mag. I got it rebarreled with a "Shilling" May have spelled that wrong, mountain rifle barrell. I also installed a muzzle brak...

Re: AZ Draw Results Are Up

I appreciate the help from ya'll and congrats on your #36 deer tag as well. Have ya'll had any moisture to speak of this year? We have had a bunch for the past two years.

Re: AZ Draw Results Are Up

Hello Sir, I drew the 12 A early rifle hunt (1014)starting October 31st I believe. What do you think????? I know absolutely nothing about the Kaibab Forest except it seems that there are quite a few tags out there for this hunt. Any help would be appreciated. TommyCaller in Oklahoma
