Aggh! It happened again!

I can't believe it! I called in a coyote this weekend to under fifty yards. It took me a minute to cross the fence but when I got to where I last saw him he was gone. I fou...

We have so many deer and elk together here that when I am elk hunting I make a point to "encourage" the deer to leave a field ( they will usually show up the earliest) before the elk show up. This is so there are less eyes and ears to spot me.

My best advice is set up near a food or water souce and try to intercept them. Most bucks can be paterned in Sept-...

Every animal that we currenty hunt will be negatively affected-check out whats happening in Idaho. Elk numbers are way down, as are the deer. Coyote and other predators...

Speaking of fawns, what is the latest in the year anyone has seen one? This past September while I was bowhunting for elk I litterally almost stepped on a fawn that couldn't have been more than a few hours old. He jumped up out of the sage and wobled off to join his mother whom I had just bumped. I ...

Here in southwest CO it seems the the deer, and elk for that matter, love pinto beans, (all season long) safflower (summer and fall) alfalfa (all year) wheat (fall varrity) and wild lettuce weeds. They really concentrate on the beans and safflower in the early fall when they want to put the pounds o...
