Re: Thoughts on trail cams

Great question/topic! The same could be asked of a rifle and a high power scope though right? IMHO, the hunting season is so short and the opportunities so few that I would have to support the trail cams (even though I don't use one). I'm also excited about my new scope! :thumb http://farm3.static.f...

Re: The Henries, SanJuan, SW Des, Books and many more

I backcountry hike A LOT! I understand both sides of the issue, but I have to say this bill is bad. I hike a lot and I have plenty of wilderness left to explore still. Camping and RV's do NOT ruin land in my opinion. I think we have a good mix here in UT and I would hate to see more of it become ina...

Re: Winter Kill

I'm in the northern and NE area. It was a pretty big snow year, but the deer herds seem fine so far. I haven't seen a bunch of bodies in the wintering areas like I did back in the 80's after a BIG year. If I had to guess I would say they did well in this area and have plenty of moisture to work with...

Re: Muzzle Brake?

I had one put on my 270 WSM by a local gunsmith (nightowl gunsmith I think) and it works great! Cost about $150. I shoot a 300 win, but I picked up this 270 for the kids. My 12 and 10 year old can shoot it without flinching. It's about twice the kick of a 22 now! NO KIDDING! It not too loud if your ...

Re: 2012 deer unit boundaries are up,,30 units, see maps

Wonder how this will play out in 2-3 years To me it's Occam's razor : "the simplest explanation is most likely the correct one." MONEY! When they were coming up with the plan they admitted it will not increase the population. But in 2-3 years it will be a piece of cake for them to shut down many of...
