Expensive bino's man.. They should last you a life time though! Have you checked into Ebay? Also, we have a local news website here in Utah (KSL.com) that we are able list classified ads. I found this pair for $1,450 OBO on there if you care to take a look:

I have a pair of them and absolutely love them like no other binoculars that I've ever owned! I also have the 15 x 56, but don't like them half as much.

Something to take into consideration is if you buy a pair of used swarvoskis the waranty doesn't transfer to you so any repairs neccessary will be out of pocket for you. I know they cost alot new but for me that warranty is worth quite a bit. You never know when you may drop them or something.

That's definitely a great point to consider.. A warranty on something that expensive is definitely worth the extra cost of buying new.
