Spring bear hunting...............

We haven't had a spring bear season here in Colorado since 1992. The treehuggers got it outlawed. I have been desiring to do some spring bear hunting and wanted to ask...................What western states offer a spring bear season and do I need to apply in the draw for a tag? Can you use bait? I personally like to rifle hunt them spot and stalk but bowhunting over bait might be a kick too? any of you hunt that way for bear before?

I know that you buy bear tags over the counter in Idaho. Went up there a few years ago by Salmon and had a great time. I think that you can buy them in Wyoming also but I wouldn't know where to go to hunt them. I don't know about the other states but in Utah is all a draw system.

idaho has otc tags, as well as montana.

ive been to idaho twice, was successful the second time! i know people that go to montana every year, and they usually see bear.

Yes Utah has a spring season. In fact that is what the majority of the tags are for is the spring season. Baiting is allowed but there are a bunch of rules to follow.

in bc and alberta you can purchase 2 tags a season open everywhere their are bears
