yep, more cat pics

Post by catdogs » Sun Feb 14, 2010 7:36 am

We treed this Tom last Tuesday off a fresh kill, between 2 roads about 1000 yards apart. We'd been running all week waiting for him to cross out and he never did. So, I got curious yesterday and walked back in there. He was still right there, and I mean right there! That tom had not left a 60 yard circle all week. He had a bush he crapped under about 30 yards away and that was as far as he went. Pretty interesting I thought. Tons of coyotes in the area with lots of coyote tracks about 20 yards away from the kill, but none any closer. I think he had to stay that close to guard it, his only bed was within feet of the kill. Notice the quill in his chin.

Here he is on Tuesday.

Love the pics, love the Black&tan hound in the tree. When I was a kid, I had a walker/blue tick cross that somehow got 30ft up on an old abandoned barn to get a treed coon. Amazing animals.-----shooter
