Thanks for the comparison 7MM, my taxi told me it would be right around 2,000 as well. I know i could get him done cheaper but I agree with AntlersOutWest I would rather pay more and know it going to turn out great than chance it on someone who does not have as much experience. It will be a year in the end of december when i harvested him, so hopefully he will be getting ready to start it come that time. Maybe have a big tom on the wall for a christmas present this year!

Most of the wait is caused by th tannery.... the tannery I use for pelts generally takes 8-10 months.

This mount cost me $1500 six years ago. The base was over $300 and had to be painted. And the taxidermist said the pose was quite difficult and it really should have been closer to $2500. Also materials have gone way up the last few years. $2000 sounds more than fair as long as you're happy with the mount!

Chet, thanks for postin a pic of your cougar, the strange thing is that is exactly the position that i am gettin my cat done in. Except mine will be lying on a tree limb instead of a rock, looks great!!

the very far right peice of rock is actually supposed to be a tree limb.... but we thought it was dumb to have a tree and a rock connected so we painted it like the rock.
If you can, hang it low..... the lower the better..... have the cats eyes level with yours.... thats when they look the best.
