I have been enjoying coyotes for more yrs that care to admit.
To get started is with a call, hand call or electronic, then pick your weapon, I have been carrying a shotgun along with my coyote rifle for about the last year, taken about a dozen on the close with it.
Next is the camo must be head to toe make sure you cover your face.
Finding the dogs is the easy part, go ask the county livestock agent what ranchers are having troubles with livestock losses to coyotes, go out and make contact with those ranchers—do not show up in your hunting clothes, have some nice clothes on and go talk with him, better impression you make the better your chance to get access to his property.
If you have a card made up with hunting license #, home phone, cell phone # home address and don’t forget your name. This has opened a lot of gates for me.
For your rifle choice look at a savage 24F, 223 over a 12ga, with a 2X10 scope, sight the 223 in for 200 yds, you point the shotgun, 12ga 3” #4 buck shot in a full choke
If you would like more information send me a PM

Good info, but are you implying a combo gun above or two different ones?

I have been carrying 2 guns for a long time, until I found a Savage 24F in 223 over 12ga.
I have the 223 sight in at 200yds, the 12ga I shoot a 3” #4buck shot. I try to get them as close as possible, but that does not always work, so I can reach out and touch them with the 223.
There are times I carry just the rifle, when I know the dogs are call shy and will not come in close.
The other combo I carry in a CZ 527 in 223 with a 6X18 and a Remington auto in 12ga.
It is just easier to carry on gun if I’m traveling any distance.
