Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag VS Remington 870 Super Mag

Word has it that I am on Santas good list this year (if he only knew)...... So anyways I am having a hard time deciding between the Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag and the Remington 870 Super Mag and figured I'd turn to the all knowing members of Muley Madness to help me make my decision. It would be nice to have a semi-auto, but Santa is on a bit of a budget this year. Besides I want something I can take out in the field and not have to worry so much about it getting rained on or dropped int he mud.

870 takes the cake!!! not a better gun for the price IMHO

I'd go with the 870 hands down. No better pump on the market, for the price, IMHO.

Remington all the way. The last mossberg that I shot kicked the crap out of your shoulder. I didn't like the weght of the gun or the balance either.

I also swear by the remington. It's the best purchase I have ever made! I have shot thousands and thousands of rounds out of that bad boy, and it still looks and works like new. You can't go wrong with that gun.

Looks like I'll be getting the 870 if I can get my hands on one.

I've had several of both and the Mossberg will out pattern the Remy everytime. The late model expresses are also experiencing extraction failures due to rough cut chambers. Remington has QC troubles at present time.
