Foxes
My friend told me he had spotted several grey foxes on the hill behind our homes, so this evening I decided to climb the steep cliffs to see if I could find them. I found their den high up on a ledge and caught a quick glimpse of a young one. I pulled out my cell phone and started playing with a predator call app. Next thing I know a couple of foxes came running right at me. I snapped off several frames as they barked and growled at me. It was pretty cool.
Which is your favorite of the pics? I am still undecided. Enjoy.

Re: Foxes
The 1st howling or yawning pic is a great shot, but I love #s 3 & 4 knowing the story with you using a cell phone app for calling (awesome by the way) I picture that little dude poking his head over the rock thinking "what the crud is that???"
That's sweet you're able to go up and see those guys right behind your home. Cool pics for sure.

Great pics! I love interacting with the wild. Young animals are always a blast to mess with. Thanks for sharing.

I also like # 1. There is a red fox that had been running around my yard at work. I've wanted to get some pictures of him but he is pretty timid. I will have to try a predator call tonight and see if I can get him in close enough.
Great pictures!

Re: Foxes
Pic #1 is a howling attempt...if you can call it howling. They sound like a teenager trying to cough up a loogey when they howl...I must say their growls aren't too intimidating either. BTW, the app on the android market that I use is called "Coyote Hunting Calls." It works great for close range stuff, but lacks the range of your typical calls.
