very cool, i would love to hear more about him! is he a young bird just learning, or an old pro hunter? i'd like to see some pics of him in action. looks like a fun hobby! how do you go about getting a redtail hawk in the first place?

She is actually a female, and i have only had her since November. I practice the sport of falconry so i am legally able to trap and train a wild red tailed hawk or kestrel. She has killed about 4 rabbits that i released to her, and she has chased many wild ones. Ill post some more pics and maybe a video once i get time!

Way to cool. Yes please post a video. Have you tested her out on pheasants?

I havent tried her on pheasants yet i plan on it though, but where i trapped her at there was a lot of pheasants so she might have killed a few in the wild.

I studied up to start out in falconry and didn't take the test. I found a mentor and everything. I plan on picking it up someday. I would love to see some videos. I would also like to hear more about the time it takes to do it properly.

GREAT PICS!

Awsome video's. How long from the time that you traped her till you were able to get around her with out her wanting to rip your eyes out. And how long till you were able to take her out free flying?

Is this your first Hawk?
