Barnes Bullet Weight Questions

Post by emberglo » Mon Aug 15, 2011 8:10 pm

I've been thinking about Barnes TSX or TTSX in 130 gr for mulies this fall in Idaho. Has anybody hunted mulies with that bullet and weight before? Would you suggest heavier?

What do you think I should sight in at? 200 yards? It should be a mix of sage flats and mountains.

Are you shooting a 270? That is a great weighted bullet for that caliber. What part of Idaho you hunting?

Anything from 130-150 would be a good weight for a .277 deer bullet. I'd sight in 2" high at 100 yards and then enter your data into one of the many online ballistic calculators. With that gun you should be able to hold right on out to 250 or more.
