Personally if I were hunting the southern part of Idaho I'd be in the hills right around Malad or a little further south right by the state line. I'd be on the east side side of I-15 but make sure your not on private property. I drive past there quite a bit and see quite a few deer. Or maybe I'd even hunt to the east of Devil Creek Reservoir. Seems to be good deer country there. The deer are all around Pocatello because in the winter it's like driving through a herd of cows the deer are so thick.
Good luck.

some of my fondest memories of hunting took place just east of Idaho Falls. it has been a long time since i lived up there but i do believe the town is called Bone. just be prepared to run into all sorts of wildlife lots of fun.

I agree with callofthewild Bone is a good spot. If you have time to scout there are some good bucks between Bone and Soda Springs.

I agree with callofthewild Bone is a good spot. If you have time to scout there are some good bucks between Bone and Soda Springs. I have an uncle that lives around Malad somewhere and he says he sees nice bucks, I just don't know that area.

Well I just moved from N. Idaho down to Poky and this will be my first season hunting Mulies instead of whitetails. From what I have gathered down south of Soda is pretty good, there is a lot of private land down there but some decent state land north of Preston, and then you also have the National forest east of Preston and South West of Montpelier. That's where I'm headed this year. Wish you luck.
