Colorado 2nd Season

Post by youngbuck91 » Mon Oct 22, 2007 4:15 pm

I had a doe and buck tag for 2nd season in colorado for unit 25 and 26.

Woke up ay 4am. Got ready and ate some breakfast. Started waking at trailhead at 5am. Waked 2 miles in and had to wait till got legal light. We wanted to walk through these fields in the light. At 7:15am it was legal light, so we started walking slowly. The all of a sudden a little buck with a lot of does. I shoot the buck and it dropped. We watched it for about 5 minutes. The does wouldn't leave. I got a good angle and shoot a doe about 90 yards from were the buck was laying. So I had a buck and doe down by 7:50am on opener morning.

Very nice! That Sunday weather was exactly what we had Saturday in Utah. :)

Great shooting!

Coloradobuck, we are hunting by sweetwater.

My dad almost shot another one the same size just cause it was close. But couldn't get a shot. So we are heading back down there this weekend in search for his buck.
We seen about 12 does and 1 buck...
1 elk track.

yea my dad was talking about coffepot with another hunter...
yea opening day there was a lot of shots. sunday with all that snow, not so much.

other hunters told us they seen a 5x5 and a 3x3 bucks in the same general area. so we are going there this weekend.

last year i seen a 6x6 and 8 cows about 300 yards away from where i shot my buck this year.
