abuse of the photo section

Post by He'll_Be_Bigger_Next_Year » Fri Jan 30, 2004 9:51 pm

does any one else notice that people are abusing the "add a comment" option? There should be a filter of some sort to calm it down a bit. People being racist and making fun of people with 2 points and stuff, its gotta be put under control or something. When I first stumbled across this site it wasnt too bad, the odd comment about a smaller deer but now there is alot more , nearly every picture has some comment stating that the hunter is gay or some thing

Glad you guys are the good guys. We try to delete the negative, racist, good for nothing comments. Hard for us to keep up, with everything else we do. We could give a few members login and passwords to the photo section and they could "moderate" and delete any inappropriate comments.

Any takers or interest in this?

Or we could get rid of the comment option all together. We feel in can be very cool benefit, but I don't know if it's worth it with all the negativity and garbage.

I wish we had a filter available, but that is not an currently not an option.

Make them log in before they can comment. That WILL stop someone hiding behind the "guest" feature and the comments will all but cease. Looks like kids have invaded the muley world. :)

We can all ensure that the abuse is kept to a minimum by taking a peek now and again and reporting anything that you think shouldn't be there. I have done it a number of times and every time I requested something be looked at it was removed that same day.
I agree with BOHNTR, if we required that someone log on before they are allowed to submit a comment that would keep the cowards from abusing it.
I also would be more than willing to help moderate if need be. This sight is great and everyone should be able to enjoy it like we do and post their pics without some jerk degrading them or putting down thier accomplishments.
If you find anything that you think needs to be looked at just hit the "email" link on the home page and let MULEYMADNESS know what the pic number is and what album it's posted in and it will be looked at.

Hey BOHNTR, I thought you were heading to Arizona for bit of hunting? Have ya already gotten back, haven't gone yet, or am I an idiot and completely in left field here (Last option completely viable).
