lost almost two inches of outside spread on my moose.
I beleive most of the shrinkage came from the huge skull shrinking.
the other measurements didnt shrink noticeably

I had a 03 Archery Buck lose over a 1/2" and was told it was because of the Mass of the Buck. Not sure I sure thought he shrunk more than that, but the tape doesnt lie.He doesnt look nearly as good on the wall.

LOL...Yea, we've all experienced that "Ground Shrinkage".
Yes and when I don't, I get the shakes because he's bigger then I thought.

Cvrn, That is a PIG of a buck! Man you did good with that one. :thumb

Cvrn, He still looks great!
I do know what you mean, as one of my best bucks that I killed and had a shoulder mount done with him turned out horrible. I even had my Taxidermist help me cape him out so he could see the neck size. He was killed in full rut and had a huge neck. When I got him back, he was on a really tall skinny necked form. Other then the rack, it didn't look close to the buck that I shot. I'm now making it a habit of giving the Taxidermist photos of different angles, to help him get it closer.
