Gear List

Hey guys,
Being that most of our hunts are coming up here in the next few weeks or month, I would like to see what everyone's essential gear list is for a mule deer hunt. I'm going in 2 weeks and always seem to forget something that is extremely important, like a head lamp. Lets hear about any new products that you guys like too!

I like this post. I'm anxious to see what everyone put. My new favorite purchase this year are some very small Coleman LED light weight lanterns. I bought 4 of them this year and took them out and have zero complaints. Here is a link. http://www.target.com/p/Coleman-LED-Pac ... A-12798714

I make sure to bring plenty of supplies for meat care. Several large plastic bags or a small tarp, cloth or plastic bags to carry meat in, nitrile gloves, good long knife and sharpener. I also carry a container of black pepper if its a time of year when flies will be a problem - this keeps them off the meat.

I'm also heavy on the optics: good spotting scope and tripod, binocs, video camera, rangefinder, and a good point and shoot camera. If you hunt solo you can use the tripod and camera to get some good still shots.

Other things I like to bring: a good book or two, journal or notebook, hydration pack, a folded up bath towel makes a great seat, 2-way radios, extra cell phone battery that's charged.
