Nevada Muley

Post by MT Backcountry » Sun Oct 16, 2011 10:52 am

I killed this buck in northern Nevada last Thursday during the early 061-068 hunt. Great country.

I was blown away by the number of people who never left their four wheelers and only saw one other person hunting on foot in 7 days. I killed this buck after a 2 mile hike to the top of a mountain where the machines couldn't go. He was out playing around with two other mature bucks at 2:30 in the afternoon. One of the other bucks was a few inches wider, but I went for the one with deeper forks. A great hunt that I will remember!

Man, that's great! Congrats! I'm hoping that I'll get lucky hoofing it on Saturday when everyone else is sticking to their quads.

Great buck! I think that Nevada is full of great deer country that is just off the beaten path. How many points did you have if you don't mind me asking? I have 6 toward a zone that I like in western Nevada, should get it next year!---------------SS

Congrats, the hard work and hiking paid off big time for you!
