CA Mule Deer (pics)

Post by BOHNTR » Sun Nov 27, 2011 10:11 am

Here's a few photographs I took of some rutting mule deer over the Thanksgiving weekend. A couple really nice bucks for the Golden State.

a nice 6x7 non-typical:

It was "fight night" on Thanksgiving eve:

A decent typical:

Check out the mass and long main beams on this buck:

Here's a really nice typical with almost no deductions:

Now that's what I'm talking about Roy. Sweetness, those are some great shots of some DANDY bucks. 10sign: 10sign:

How long that fight last, that's something I've yet to see and always hope to.

They actually got locked-up for about 20 minutes. Luckily they were able to untangle themselves before both expired. They were both exhausted and the big non-typical was bleeding from the mouth. It was a fight like I've never seen in the wild.

Very Sweet! Do they have a hunt for that unit during the rut? I don't mean for you to tell me, I'd just like to know for the future when you draw that tag! :thumb Thanks for the excellent pictures.

Now take your hunting equipment, your quiver and bow, and go out into the open country and hunt some wild game for me.
