First time hunting X3b

Post by tfarmer » Sun Aug 04, 2013 9:58 am

Not hunted this zone. Need help on good hunting area and camping or lodging.
Not steep terrain, I'm a disabled veteran.
I'm hunting with 2 other guys.

Here you go:
-Travel south from Eagleville CA. A mile or so before the Nevada border turn south on Red Rock Rd.
-Travel a few miles to N 41 05' 29.34" W 120 03' 41.87". There is a small dry lake on the east side of the road. Turn east on a rough 2 track.
-Take this road up over Mahogany Ridge to N 41 05' 32.15" W 120 02' 10.58". This is an intersection of roads. Turn north and hunt theeast side of Mahogany Ridge and surrounding area to the north.

My buddies and I killed bucks on two hunting trips at this location. Got two out of one group near N 41 07' 15.89" W 120 01' 43.68" The road is ROUGH, but you can road hunt and if you want to walk, the terrain is easy. Not a ton of deer, but usually a few bucks.

Good Luck.------SS

What an unselfish post!! Thanks Springville for giving specific details on a hunting location. So many of us are protective of our "spot", but you set a high standard for paying it forward. Best of luck to you tfarmer.
