Bucks from the past
Bucks from the past
I found some old footage I have on a VCR tape of some nice bucks I've seen in the past. The images are not too clear because of the analog picture and then I'm just recording it off my tv from my cell phone but I thought some of you might still like to see some of the bucks I've been lucky enough to see over the years.
It might be a good way to pass some time while we're waiting for the draws.
Let me know if you guys like this stuff and I'll post more.
This buck was staring at me for about 5 minutes. I thought it was a nice buck but nothing too special. Right when I turned the video camera off, the buck turned and started running off. That's when I started filming again. I couldn't believe how big it suddenly got.
I didn't even noticed that 8" cheater point on his left side until he was running away.
The buck had great mass and fairly long main beams too.
Enjoy.

Dang Ridge that buck is a complete STUD IMO, looks exactly like everything a guy wants. I enjoyed the clip, I'm dying for summer to arrive.

I can wait for summer either. Although I'll be spending a lot of time landscaping my back yard, which I've put off for several years now.MuleyMadness wrote:Dang Ridge that buck is a complete STUD IMO, looks exactly like everything a guy wants. I enjoyed the clip, I'm dying for summer to arrive.
I'll try to post a couple new bucks each week for the next month or so and a little background story about the buck.

Sounds good to me, I don't know what my deal is...but summer can't come soon enough this year. I must be to stressed out, I need cool summer mornings, trail cams, and nature photo ops.I'll try to post a couple new bucks each week for the next month or so and a little background story about the buck.
Re: Bucks from the past
I filmed the buck in this next video a few days after the Nov. muzzy hunt had ended back around 1990. It was a general season hunt.
On the last day of the season, I was within 200 yards of this buck and was hoping to get within 100. I was shooting patch and round balls at the time.
Suddenly, I heard a horrible sounding racket coming from across the other side of the big flat that I and the deer were on.
It was an old farm truck with cattle racks in the bed.
The deer scattered and all ran into the thick cedars/junipers.
The truck stopped in the middle of the flat and a guy got out glassed the surrounding area for a couple minutes, then turned around and drove off.
It was one of the best looking bucks that I almost got a shot at.

Re: Bucks from the past
Here's some bonus footage of this second buck. I was able to sneak in on him right at dark.
